"Jesus said to them, 'Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.'"
(John 6:53-58)
"The Eucharist is 'the source and summit of the Christian life.' 'The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.'"
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1324)
It is a great privilege and responsibility for our parish to be known as the "Church of the Blessed Sacrament." Our name includes a special call for us as a faith community to be Eucharist-centered. The celebration of the Mass is the heart and soul of our parish life. Designated times for Eucharistic Adoration allow us to continue the adoration of Mass and gaze upon the Lord.
Our Sunday Mass times are Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (Vigil Mass), Sunday at 8:00 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Our daily Masses are Tuesday at 6:15 pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Eucharistic Adoration is held in our Church on Mondays from 12:00 pm ‑ 8:00 pm, on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm ‑ 6:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 9:00 am ‑ 12:00 am.
First Communion is generally celebrated in the second grade on the Third Sunday of Easter at a special 12:30 pm Mass. Preparation for First Holy Communion begins at the beginning of the second-grade year.
Holy Communion is brought to our homebound by a team of Extraordinary Ministers. If you or someone you know is unable to make it to Mass, please contact the parish office at (740) 345‑4290 so that we can arrange to have Holy Communion brought to the home.
